Casual Food Service Supervisor
SUMMARY
This position provides leadership to the front line staff regarding the activities of patient food services including: meal assembly and service, ware washing, nourishment preparation and distribution, inventory management and food distribution between sites. Responsible for supervising the day to day operations to ensure timely, microbiologically safe, accurate and cost effective provision of meal service to the patients and clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Community College Diploma and/or Bachelor’s Degree
• Eligibility for membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM)
• 1 – 3 years practical and related experience
• Must be self directed and self motivated
• Must have the ability to prioritize and complete tasks within given time restraints
• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with food safety and sanitation
• Must have conflict resolution skills
• Must be proficient with MS Office; knowledge of dietary software (CBORD) an asset
• Must have understanding of WHMIS
• Experience in a unionized setting is an asset
• Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Some responsibilities include:
• Oversee the department staffing
• Perform quality management responsibilities
• Manage unit/department financial resources
• Perform corporate management responsibilities that support and advance SJHH’s goals
• Develop, implement and maintain departmental procedures
• Other duties as assigned
HOURS OF WORK:
Rotating shifts at two sites (West 5th and Charlton)
Days, afternoons, including weekends
