Director of Hospitality - Arbour Trails

Schlegel Villages currently has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Hospitality at our Village of Arbour Trails. This is a key village leadership position responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality services to our residents.

Our new Director of Hospitality will:

  • Provide leadership to the food services team in the planning, preparation and serving of meals to our residents
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness across all kitchens and serveries to meet and exceed all standards set by Public Health and the Retirement Home Regulatory Authority.
  • Assess the dietary and nutritional requirements of our residents to support our resident-centered approach to care and deliver an enhanced dining experience
  • Manage catered functions at the village and monitors and orders all supplies to support village food services needs
  • Prepare and maintain team member and department schedules as well as undertaking payroll tasks




The Director of Hospitality is a serving leader to team members and ensures all team members live the values of Schlegel Villages.  The Director of Hospitality will demonstrate exemplary customer service, provide resident-centered services, and advocate to maximize resident empowerment in decision-making and choice.

Our new Director of Hospitality will meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Certificate or Diploma from a recognized institution in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Have advance Food Handlers Certificate and Smart Serve certifications
  • Experience in working in a customer service driven environment and leading a large hospitality and catering team
  • Demonstrate a creative flair for menu planning, preparation and food presentation
  • Basic computer skills and comfortable using Microsoft Office Packages

Knowledge or experience in the following areas would be an asset:

  • Red Seal Certified Chef would be considered an asset
  • Active membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (C.S.N.M.) would be considered an asset
  • An understanding of the nutritional needs of seniors
