Temporary Assignment – 30 hours weekly for 5 weeks minimum

About Greenwood Court:
Greenwood Court is designed as a 'Community of Care' where seniors are able to age in place. As the needs of our seniors change, they have access to additional services and supports without having to leave familiar surroundings or newly developed friendships. About the Position:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Food Services Manager is accountable to manage all aspects of the dietary department through effective planning, evaluation and direction to meet the nutritional needs of the residents in accordance with quality management, legislative requirements and the organization standards.
As a valued member of the team, the Food Service Manager demonstrates a commitment to the quality of resident care by providing services in accordance with the organization’s vision, mission and values.
WAGE: $ 30.18 to $33.32 hourly
QUALIFICATIONS
• Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management is required
• Graduate of a recognized Nutrition Managers’ course OR Degree in dietetics or food service administration and management is an asset.
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the long-term care home sector is preferred
• Experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing
• A minimum of 1 year experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing

NOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Must be knowledgeable of the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, Public Health regulations, Food Safety Code of Practice and Canada's Food
Guide to Healthy Eating, ORCA, relevant sections of the Long Term Care Homes Act and regulations 2007 and OH&S Act
• Working knowledge and understanding of the dietary and nutritional care needs and menu planning for the elderly, including special diets
and textures
• Well-developed proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
• Knowledge of Point of Care computer programs would be an asset
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills required
