Permanent, Part-time Position(s) in the Food Services Department

The Host/Hostess is responsible for assisting patients with meals including meal selection, service and retrieval in
accordance with the patient’s dietary needs/restrictions. You will assist patients with making appropriate daily menu
selections. You will prepare, assemble and deliver patient meal trays and snacks. You will calculate modified diets/fluid
restrictions, calories, etc. You will also perform various kitchen duties including sanitation, set-up and completing
temperature logs and use an automated tablet to record and transfer meal selections to computer.

What must you have?
• Completion of High School Education or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current and valid Food Safety Proton Certificate from Public Health.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Host/Hostess.

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic diet information.
• Good command of the English language, including reading, writing and verbal skills.
• Ability to work productively and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service.
• Computer literacy in a Windows environment.
• Proven attendance record.
• Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a
   safe and inclusive environment for all.
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
• Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie
    Health’s Commitment to Caring.
• Models behaviour that is aligned with the values of Mackenzie Health – Excellence, Leadership and Empathy.
